Twins Doubled-Up By O's 12-6

Sticks come alive, but Orioles answer back each time.

On a picture perfect Mundy Park evening the Twins finally found their stroke, but couldn't hold back the Orioles. The visiting Twins struck first in the opening frame. Leadoff man, Dan Skolovy, started the Twins off with his first of 2 hits on the day; scoring the game's opening run. The O's, however, answered right back in the bottom of the inning with 4 runs of their own.

Twice the Twins came within 1 run only to give up a crooked number in the bottom of the frame. The score was 5-4 in the middle of the 4th after Rob Chartrand and Blake Hurdle traded places on back-to-back doubles; Hurdle later scoring on a past ball. In the 5th, with the bases loaded, Chartrand got a hold of another pitch for a booming double to left-center. Chartrand's second double of the day would bring Twins back within striking distance [7-6], but that would prove to be as close as they would get. The Orioles went on to score 4 runs in the bottom of the inning and tack on 1 more in the 6th to seal the victory.

The Twins will look to turn their fortunes around on Sunday when they host the undefeated Redhawks in a Mother's Day matinée.
