Twins Give Em "Something to Talk About"

Twins rally in middle frames to a 7-5 victory

Updated Tuesday May 9, 2017 by Colin Sullivan.

Sunday - Dan Skolovy worked around 7 walks in a gutsy come-from-behind complete game victory against powerful Redhawks bats. Down 4-2 heading into the bottom of the 4th, the Twins mounted a balanced attack with hits from Rouleau, Veljacic, Richardson, Skolovy, and a double from Knowles. The inning was capped by an RBI single from Bute to end the frame with a maximum allowable 5 runs scored.

Defense continues to be greatly improved thus far, in large part due to a rigorous off season training regime and this game proved to be no exception. The boys in the, new look, crisp white jerseys played stellar defense behind Skolovy as he blanked the Redhawks from the 2nd to the 6th. "Bend, but don't break" whispered through the trees in the top of the 7th as the Redhawks loaded the bases with none out. Threatening, they would eventually plate 1 run before a battle tested Skolovy would force weak contact up the first baseline to Hurdle with 2 out, slamming the door to a 7-5 victory and giving everyone a little something to talk about...
